    Cheap pickups
    Cheap Trem
Alder wouldn't be as high quality either..
I didn't check where it was manufactured, but it's probably Japan or China or Korea or someplace where the labour is cheap!
Also...Dime hasn't used Washburn in many years...so it's an old model aswell...He went back to Dean a few years before his death or so I read!

I spose it's alright if you're from Cork.

Its so cheap cause that was the lowest of the low of all the washburn dimes(well the lowest of the low would be that minus the paint job but you get the idea.

Id pass on it, a Lot of guitars would be just as good for the price.

Is a set neck the same as a thru neck??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,658 ✭✭✭Patricide

No, set means the neck is glued in place to the body, A set neck on the other hand is the neck being from the same wood as the body(i.e. there not 2 seperate pieces of wood to begin with). The main advantage of having a neck through Vs. a set neck is so that you have less of a heal and better higher fret access. Of course it also improves sustain and tone general tone also, to what extent though is argued to extremes.

Definitely wouldn't be Japan. Japanese made instruments are of a supremely high quality, and the labour is certainly not cheap.

Yeh.....Don't mention China or 98% Korean (i counted them) made guitars in the same sentance as any Japanese made instruments. Japanese make the top level of guitars along with a lot of USA companies.

China make dirt.....i'm serious 'bout that too.

Apart from the fact that from what the lads are saying about it not being a great guitar it's also not a great idea if you intend to appeal to the widest audience possible!! :p
