so I've been looking for a decent way to keep my 2 machines (home & work) synced (bookmarks, addresses, ical) after being miserably disappointed with mobileMe.

    i think i've found a serious alternative - www.fruux.com

i've been using it for the last week or so and it has worked really nicely, in the background, small memory and CPU footprint. It syncs every hour and, if you have the auto option checked, it syncs when changes are made.

    i'm pretty happy with it

Dropbox is also extremely handy for keeping a synced folder between your machines, I think it's one gig free and it's smooth and efficient, you barely notice it.

dropbox is great for syncing files etc.......fruux looks after the other stuff!

all in all....between the two i'm delighted.

If you want an even more lightweight solution try rsync.
Don't like the command line? try arRsync http://arrsync.sourceforge.net/
