    Arguably the original video nasty,Wes Craven's seminal exploitation classic is finally getting a fully uncut release in a gorgeous 3 disc set set for release on October 20th.Im really excited for this release.I already have an uncut release from some German label but this set is worth buying for the extras alone.
    Product Description
    Hailed by critics as one of the greatest horror movies of all time and now fully Uncut and Uncensored: dare you enter The Last House On The Left? Teenagers Mari and Phyllis stop off before heading to a concert in the city to score some grass when they are accosted by a group of thugs led by the reprehensible and deeply psychotic Krug. While Mari's parents are just a mile away preparing a party for their daughter, the two girls are subjected to the most terrifying ordeal imaginable. With his male and female cohorts, the monstrous Krug delivers a grueling catalogue of assault and depravity on the two girls that stretches the bounds of on-screen horror to its very limits. Only after the girls' suffering is ended does the enormity of their actions dawn upon the villainous gang. But for them the nightmare is just beginning: the house they happen upon to spend the night is one from which they may never leave alive. From master of horror Wes Craven comes a film so powerful, so shocking that it has never been permitted in its complete and uncut form in the UK... until now.

    Special Features
    Disc 1: Feature commentary by write/director Wes Craven and Producer Sean S. Cunningham;
    2nd Feature Commentary by stars David Hess, Marc Sheffler and Fred Lincoln;
    "Celluloid Crime Of The Century" making of... documentary (40 mins);
    "Scoring Last House..." featurette with David Hess;
    "Krug Conquers England" charting the theatrical tour of the first even UNCUT screening of the film in the UK;
    20 mins of outtakes and dailies; US theatrical trailer;
    German theatrical trailer;
    TV spots;
    Radio spots

    Disc 2: "Krug & Company": rare COMPLETE ALTERNATE CUT of the film;
    Exclusive interview with Carl Daft of Exploited Films, who took the BBFC to courts over the film's banned status;
    WORLD EXCLUSIVE never before seen footage only recently discovered;
    "Tales to Tear Your Heart Out" - excerpt from a short film starring David Hess and directed by Wes Craven

    Disc 3: "Going To Pieces: The Rise and Fall of the Slasher Film" feature length documentary on the 'slasher' film phenomenon that followed "Last House...";
    Filmmakers commentary;
    Deleted scenes;
    Horror film quiz

    IMO,this is a must own for horror fans and film fans in general.If you want to know what an exploitation movie is,watch this.While it hasnt dated too well (not many exploitation movies have) its still a grubby and sleazy little underground gem.I for one will be buying it anyway.
    Piss your pants!!! ;)

    I'm amazed it's taken this long to get an uncut release.

    Interesting. I have a version of this on DVD along with I Spit On Your Grave (both part of Box Of The Banned) and tbh having watched it once I don't think I would want to watch it again, much less in an uncut release. Not because it's a bad film but an exploitation film with extended sexual assault is not something I really feel all that comfortable watching. (Although LHOTL is still not as bad as ISOYG in this regard).

    I would be interested to see the cut version to compare the 2.If memory serves me correct there is something in the region of 8 minutes missing from the cut version.
    Ive bought this for the extras though.Its not a movie that I would watch repeatedly.I have it about 2 years and Ive watched it twice so will watch it again whenever it arrives.
    Its pretty similar in tone and content to House on the Edge of the Park which I have an uncut version of for over 3 years and have only watched once(somewhere in the region of 11 minutes missing in the cut version of this one).Plus David Hess plagarises himself in it.
    Krug is a pretty standout horror cinema bad guy.

    I thought the uncut version had already been released. Got this version a long time ago. Turns out though from imdb..

    "The British Anchor Bay DVD issue contains a complete alternative cut of the film, dating from the days when it was still known as "Krug and Company." The main difference is a short scene in which Sadie is seen performing oral sex on Mari, with Krug telling her, "Hurry up, because Weasel and I are very hungry.""

    Thought the film was crap tbh.

    EDIT: Just checked and it contains both cuts and the special features are near identical, although it's still cut.
