I am not sure if this is the most appropriate forum to post but I think readers here are most likely to be able to help.

I am looking for information about a delivery van which was built in the shape of a tube of toothpaste. It was sometime around 1960 - 1965 . I believe it was originally built for St. Patricks day parade and was then used, for a short time, as a regular delivery van. It was later rebuilt as a 'normal' van.

I am not sure who built it, although it was likely built in Dublin, I don't know what base was used, and I cannot remember which toothpaste it advertised!

I would be. grateful for any help

    Thanks for replying.
Yes it could have been McLeans and it could have been brought in from UK. I saw a van in use a number of months later, delivering to a local shop in Tallaght. I was then told, some time later, that it had been converted to normal va. However this could be wrong. Perhaps it was just returned to UK.

I might try searching on UK .

I do recall seeing a book on the subject of custom promotional vehicles. It may well have been featured in it , but alas I didn't buy it so can't tell you if it was. Maybe see if you can find a copy on Amazon.

The latest issue of Model Collector Magazine has a photo of the Minic model and refers to the fact that is wea based on a Jtype chassis .
