Query about tax back

Not really sure if this is an issue but just curious.
Last month I went from working full-time to part-time. Since then my employer has been giving me "tax-back" in my wages every week for the same amount. I am assuming this is stop me getting a big pay-out in January(which I was looking forward to!)
Can he do this or am I within my right to ask him to stop?

    Thanks

It happens automatically as far as I know. Your boss is just on top of his paperwork. I dont think you can ask him to stop. You could always direct debit the money out of your account into a savings account on payday so that you cant get directly at it.

I might be missing something here - but surely that big payout would be from the tax office, not your boss - so he has nothing to gain by "stopping you" from getting a big lump sum. As cooperguy says, it sounds like he is on top of the paperwork.

Set up a direct debit for the extra money you are getting in your paychecks into a savings account and it works out the same (plus you get interest on it).

If you had overpaid LAST year you'd get it in a lump sum; unfortunately because the overpayment happened this year, you are getting it back every month with your salary.
