How do you reboot the new standard UPC box?

    The stickie says to reboot if missing channels but no info how. My mate was back from holidays and had only a few channels working. I pulled the card and there was a red light flashing ages. Then it looked for a code, I put in 131 and it scanned in all the channels OK. But when turned on it said you were not subscribed. The EPG showed on all of them. Then after going in and out of a few menus I got a few channels showing, RTE1, city channel, setanta Ireland. But very few others, no RTE2 TV3, most others missing.

    Is there any other things I can try? also I was connecting it to a new TV in another room, it was connecting through and older installed coax. I am now thinking maybe the signal was not strong enough for some sort of authorization update to come in, although the picture quality was fine on channels that did work.

    So if there is a standard procedure to reboot I might try again, and if it doesnt work I can do it downstairs at the actual entry point (stronger signal).

    Ok i work for them, The signal ok. If the signal is bad the box will say LOSS OF SIGNAL. Does it work on the other Point ??. Im 100% its a faulty box.

    Restore Factory Settings, Go to settings, Restore 0000 Reboot Code once again 131.

    Hi everyone,

    All of the sudden, for two days I am constantly getting the "loss of signal" message.
    I checked the signal at the menu, network search and after I click on Automatic search channels, the process goes well and it gives the results of 154 channels and 104 music channels, but still when I go back to watch any of them it is the same message "loss of signal.
    The signal quality is 100 percent whereas the signal strength is something like 55% 60%.

    I live in Amsterdam for 3 years and never had this kind of trouble, this is the first time and don't know what happened.

    There isn't a way to software reboot UPC boxes (or if there is, I haven't found it yet! NTL boxes can be software rebooted by pressing Help --> Yellow). The only way to do it is plug it out at the mains then plug it back in.

    You are probably better off ringing UPC in the circumstances.

    Hi Dublin518317. Can you help ? See my post re HD box having only one output connection active at one time. (sorry - don't know how to include a link for it). Do you know if it is possible to make both the HDMI and Scart outputs active at the same time?.
