Striker and Grisham

    source: the wrestling observer

As reported several days ago, both Todd Grisham and Matt Striker had deaths in their families that kept them off two separate WWE broadcasts. We can now confirm that both men lost their fathers tragically, and completely coincidentally.

In the case of Todd Grisham, his father was apparently riding his bike when he was hit by a drunk driver and killed. The driver of the car has since been arrested.

Matt Striker's father was reportedly eating a peach when the pit suddenly went down the wrong pipe causing him to choke. He was then hospitalized where doctors surprisingly discovered a totally unrelated aneurysm. They performed a surgery that reportedly went well, however shortly after Striker's father went into a coma that he had been in for several weeks while Matt continued to call
ECW broadcasts. His father then passed away last weekend.

dry.gif Jesus wept. In Striker's Father's case I think that's the ultimate nightmare; going into hospital for something and then finding out you've got something that's going to kill you.

As always, very sad to hear. Both were in awful situations. RIP.

Francine, former ECW, also lost her father, as well as her sister last month, both to cancer. :(

The world is cruel, I can't imagine how Francine can be feeling after two such bitter blows in the space of a month.

not that the deaths of their family members is not very sad, but when i clicked on this i got very worried, and then the first thing i seen was RIP, and i thought perhaps both had died in a car accident or something.

    RIP though.

I posted it because Grisham and Striker are the ECW commentator team. What are the odds this could happen to both of them?

She was attending her Father's wake when she was informed that her sister had passed away :( I can't even imagine how hard that must have been. She has written about it in blogs on her myspace

The chances of this happening is very slim, but it still did. :(

In one sense, i think in some ways they can have the solace in knowing that they are not alone.

This was the part that got me the most, the show of professionalism is astounding.
My thoughts and prayers are with both families. RIP.
    :(

Although the basic story is true, some of that is not what was written in the Observer (as usual)

    RIP to them both

I really wish people would quote the actual site they get this crap from, instead of saying "quote- wrestling observer" because thats what the site says.

Because what sites like wrestlezone do, is quote one line from observer, and throw in a load of bullsh*t to fill it up.

Trust me folks, you're doing yourselves and everyone else a favour by doing so. :)

Ah it wasn't offensive, it's just that 3rd party sites have an annoying tendency of taking one line of Meltzer, and then throwing their own spin on it to make a paragraph. Which is fine, nobody likes a direct ripoff.

The problem is, their own spin, nine times out of ten is far from factual. :)

Someone passed it on to me in a seperate forum. Taking in the calibre of the poster I assumed he was an Observer subscriber.:pac:
