Fighting Irish

I have been watching a lot of NCAA this year. I have a soft spot for the Irish, I seen them play and met some of the players when I spent a couple of days there in the mid nineties.
I seen two Irish games this year and I have been very impressed with their quarterback Jimmy Clausen. There are a couple of promising players on the D as well.
Anyways they are currently outside the top 25 but play 22 ranked North Carolina tonight so a win here might lift them into the picture.

NC lost their No 1 playmaker on offense in the 1st. ND should do well-I have them to cover as well.

I haven't really heard any calls for them to be ranked, but if they win against NC on the road, they will probably get in to the Top 25.

If they get over this game, they should win out (well, Pitt could be a test) until the final game of the season when, in all likelihood, they will be destroyed by USC.

Well I'm not gonna get carried away and say that they will beat USC but a win tonight is huge as far as rankings are concerned for ND.
I just love watching Clausen. I know he probably will never make it as a pro due to his height but he has such a good arm and great vision. And of course I forgot to mention Floyd in the op. He's young but he has it all.

If they win tonight they're ranked. They'd wanna get rid of that kicker though.
On a related note, does anyone else feel like throwing the remote at the tv when Nasn go to an ad-break,complete with annoying music?

    Yes!

Going well for the Irish, should hold on to win.

Mad end to the game, as soon as I mention a quarterback he goes and makes huge mistakes.:(
Ah well, on to the big game of the day, Gators and my other fav QB with a chance to move up tonight against LSU. Should be a cracking game.

Bitterly dissapointed. Was a game we could and probably should have won. Clausen gave them a soft pick six at the start of the third quarter which was key - then when we decided to go for it on 3rd and 4th and seven we needed to try and hit a target beyond the marker. There was also a soft defensive play when we had them looking for a 3rd and 18 in the third quarter while still in front.

HOWEVER, we did move the ball fluidly and completed some nice drives. We did compete and force them to win it a couple of times in the fourth quarter. The result is going to hurt - but we can take comfort from the fact that there is obvious little ways to improve on that performance. And the performance we did put up just fell short of a win.

Remember that we are still a young team. Yes I know our schedule has not been great thus far - but we are 4 - 2 and have lost against two decent teams on the road in games that were up for grabs late.

We're not there yet. But we're getting there.
