Problem- please help

    Just bought a HP G6093EA Notebook PC. Anyway its says that once you plug it in and turn it on that the initial setup will optimize the performance etc and the laptop will appear inactive and display will be black etc. its says that it will last up to an hour or more.

    That was four hours ago and i'm a bit freaked now. Its just a blank screen but the laptop is definitely on. My bro told me to plug out the battery, wait till it loses battery power and then try again. I'm really quite lost as to how to proceed:(

    Hold the power button for about 5 seconds and that will force it to turn off, leaving it to just run out of battery will ruin your battery.

    It just will not respond to anything at the moment. held it for 5 seconds but nothing. and the laptop is defo on cause i can hear it loading
