Folk/Acoustic Musicians

    Hi I'm a third level undergraduate student in the Dun Laoirghre area looking for some musicians who would be interested in a jam with a view to writing some songs and possibly recording an album.

    I play acoustic guitar and sing, also a bit of harmonica and some basic piano stuff as well. My main influences are probably Nick Drake and Fionn Regan. Other major influences are Bon Iver, John Martyn, Sufjan Stevens, Bob Dylan, Neil Young. So its mainly folk and acoustic stuff that I'm into, but I like almost all types of music. Cold War Kids and Kings of Leon would be non-acoustic bands that I really like.

    Basically I'm not looking for any instrument in particular, just a passion for the above stated music and artists!. So if you are into folk and acousticy music and sing or play Cello or stringed instruments, or percussion or bass or piano or whatever and are looking for someone to play with let me know!

    I havn't written many songs, just have bits and bobs here and there but looking to expand on this.

    If you want to hear me play heres a link. Both songs were put together in one night about a year ago so they're a bit rough round the edges, with a friend of mine. Fisrt one is an original song, second one is a cover of Fionn Regan. I'm backing vocals on track one and lead vocals on track 2. should give you an idea of what I'm into!

    cool thanks for the encouragment! iv been meaning to do more but cant find the time/motivation. hoping getting in touch with more musicians will help.

    I am also searching for a fellow musician to jam and gig if possible.. But my belief is that mostly everything that can be performed on stage by a 5piece band, can be done acoustically(even be it altered a bit).. I have a wide range of interests that range from Rage against the machine, as far as Jeff Buckley, and alot in between.. I also live in Dun Laoghaire/monkstown....
