Good or bad?

I was just on the bus home when this really fit girl sat down opposite me. I caught her sneaking a few glances at me and I did the same to her. So then I started wondering, is it ok to chat someone up on the bus?

It's a different situation to a pub or a nightclub. Usually in those places people go there to relax and they're talking away. Then in nightclubs you have people out for one thing. The bus isn't the same kind of vibe at all. People are tired after work or college and they just want to get home. Most people wouldn't be thinking about sex.

So is it appropriate to chat someone up on the bus?

No, what the funk would the opener be...."so...you come here often" it's only going to be a cringe-worthy awkward conversation that will have the rest of the passengers listening in and thinking that you're a tool.

It would be very awkward, Because you would be talking to her and it would seem like everyone on the bus is listening, Which they probably are, The only people that break silence on buses are Scangers and drunks.

Everyone else usually keeps to themselves unless there is a large group of friends, Chat her up if shes waiting at the bus stop or getting off the bus.

Yeah its ok, except it's horrible hearing a guy chat a girl up on a bus. It quickly turned funny when the guy didn't take the hint that she didn't like him. It was an hours journey of awkward!

The bus is a great place but it does depend on the number. 19/19A is a fairly good bet for nice birds.
No chat up lines needed, ffs just smile and say "hi" - take it from there.

I love the idea in Ireland that unless your pissed in a club there is no point chatting someone up. That being said a bus is only a good idea if its a CIE job and you can get off at the next stop if you say something retarded. My advice is take any chance really. Who the fook knows when you'll meet someone. Its not like romance is timed to when Redz opens.

This works particularly well at night time. Especially if she is getting off at a quiet, residential stop where there's nobody around.

Follow her off and continue chatting to her as you walk 5 steps behind her.
