There's a front page photo and a 2 page article starting on p14 of the Metro Eireann paper today.

It features interviews with Richard Libanan of FRAG Dublin, our own Darragh O’Toole and Conor Scolard, Paul and Mel Carey at HRTA, Tony Geraghty from Eirsoft, and Niel Kenny who was Ms. Reilly’s escort in the playing area in HRTA on the day.

It's very nicely written, and at €1, you could definitely do worse than to grab a copy.

Big thanks to Ms. Catherine Reilly of the Metro Eireann for finally bringing into the media an honest, open minded article which really does bring to light all the best aspects of the airsofting community!

Ah lads, let them sell a few copies before you post the article up on the web for the whole world to read.

    Also, its copyrighted.

We should be ...encouraging... them to post it up on their own website.

yeah, copyright kinda gets in the way of putting up scans for at least a week

Thats excellent. I spotted her last week at the HRTA open day and made a point to talk to her about our hobby and just say hello. Really wanted to show her that we arent all gun mad and do have 9-5.30 (5.30 i wish) jobs the rest of the week!!

The Copyright thing.......Has not stopped anyone in the past scanning newspaper articles that are in the Public Domain? Is this different someway?

I'd gladly pay a Euro or more to read a positive
article on airsoft in the Media!
(would not want to pay a subscription for a year though!)

Anyway of contacting the reporter for permission to
post a transcript of the text or a scan?

The entire rest of the country cant see this as its only
a Dublin based paper? and it aint on their webpage.
Surely they would LOVE the idea of more people reading
    their articles.

I would be delighted to pay the € for it but it is not available in Galway.

    Web site would be good.

Well I said it was possible to get positive coverage by the media, but very few believed me.

Sorry, but I've been waiting quite a while to say this....

    I told you so. :p

    Morning all,

Catherine Reilly was in touch over the weekend there and we have been given permission to publish the article online (so another great big thanks for that!).

In the absence of a scanner, I've taken pictures of the article which give an idea of the layout, and Catherine forwarded me the text of the article to boot.

It's all uploaded and linked to from our homepage so enjoy. :D

When I see something like this in one of the national papers then I'll agree with you.
