Anyone going to this? I won 2 tickets for it in a competition, so happy. They're like my favourite 80s band. ABC and Heaven 17 also playing, on in Royal Hospital Kilmainham.

    Should be brill! :)

Well done Marshy on winning 2 tickets to see your favourite band.

Saw HL a few years ago (RDS ?), but I think they're well eh ... don't want you baby!

    Anyways, enjoy the gig.

So,who is your favourite 80's band?
    :pac:

Hope you enjoy the show. I saw them waaay back, long before the girls joined, they were similar in sound to early Simple Minds. Changed a lot when the discovered how to make hit singles, as did SM of course.

Should be a good night for 80's lovers!

Well, 4 days before the concert, the Human League have decided to pull out citing "technical difficulties". Bizarre excuse in my mind.

So its now just Heaven 17 and ABC playing on Sunday. €20 refund at the doors or a full refund at the place of purchase.

I'm so annoyed. The overall organistation for this gig leaves a lot to be desired. Firstly, moving it to a much smaller venue and now losing the main act. Fairly pathetic...

Sounds like a lack of ticket sales was probably the reason for both the move and the pull-out of the headliner. Unfortunaly happens quite a bit.

Yeah, possibly so. But for the last couple of weeks you couldn't buy tickets for it on the ticketmaster website. That leads me to believe they had sold enough to fill tripod anyway.

Anyway, its a crap one either way. I'm just annoyed they left it this late to pull out, without a proper excuse...

this is a bummer, I changed plans for the bank holiday to see this gig and now the league pull out, I wonder was there a falling out between H17 & The League?
