    Hi,

I am trying to assess the risk of leaving a car overnight in Malahide dart station car park. I know it will be at my own risk but just wondered if anyone knows anything about how safe it is. I use the castle car park across the road sometimes and have noticed broken glass there lately and a couple of burnt out cars over past couple of months.

    Thanks

I'm not sure if you can park for free after 6 or not there? But I've often seen cars clamped there early in the morning so I'd find out for certain before I left my car there. Regarding safety it seems safe enough there, I've never seen any burnt out cars or broken windows anyway.

Can anyone say what the current situation is with parking at malahide dart station.
I haven't used the station in about a year or so (long before the pay+display)
and back then it was always full up by 6am when the first DART was due.

Is it still that way or have the new charges moved people on ?

It unsafe from a security point of view and you'll be clamped if you don't have a valid 'pay and display' receipt.

When I go to the Dart in the morning (around 8) it's usually fairly full. I'd say it's safe enough to park overnight (if you're allowed to) however they are very particular about the parking tickets, since there's always one car clamped in the car park when I run by to catch the dart.

    Thanks for that.

I've been there as early at 715 and there were only one or two spaces left. Its €3 all day parking down near the Tennis Club or free on the coast road car park.
