    Hello all,
I've just moved to Dublin and need braces. (24yo)! My problem is complicated and it is very important to me that I find the best possible person, as I have been so obsessed with this for years!! I don't want to waste loads of money jumping from practice top practice for consulatations and 2nsd opinions, and as I'm a newbie here, i don't know any orthos, or anyone who could recommend one to me:( I'm particularly looking for a very thorough ortho who is not a proponent of extractions, and uses an orthopaedic approach ( 2 stage- like expander then braces) But that would be a plus! If you know of anyone good, please let me know, I'd be sooo grateful
    Thanks!! m:D

Maghnus O'Donnell at the Northbrook Clinic in Ranelagh is ace. I thought he was going to be really expensive because of his location, but actually he's cheaper than any of the other orthos who I got quotes from and your consultation fee is offset against the price of the braces. He and his staff have been lovely and very understanding (I suffer from panic attacks sometimes, so find getting impressions done quite traumatic) and he even threw the white braces in for free, when they would normally cost a few hundred more. Check him out!:D

I got my braces done by Dr. Michael Ryan in Dundrum and I have to say that he and the nurses there did absolutely everything they could to help and guide me through the whole process. I was encouraged to call if I had any problems. I'm not sure of the cost, but 2 years later, my teeth are still perfect. :)

I got my braces off last may. I still attend just for check ups etc because I opted to get the permanent retainer popped in behind my teeth. Anyway, her name is Dr. Shona Leydon, she is based in clontarf just across the road from fairview train station. She always makes me feel totally at ease, talks away to relax you and very gentle when working on your teeth checking to see if you are ok. 01 - 8186571
