Does anyone know the bible really well?
I'm trying to find out about Providence, I know it's a biblical term, for 'God's will'. I need to find the Irish translation, so first I need to find it in the English bible, then hop to that chapter in the Irish language version.
Any help would be very much appreciated!

Actually in most English translations the word 'providence' only occurs once and is referring to a Governor called Felix, not to God (Acts 24:2).

Providence is the beneficent outworking of God's sovereignty whereby all events are directed and disposed to bring about those purposes of glory and good for which the universe was made.from The New Dictionary of Theology, IVP, 1988.

It's not so much a Biblical term but a Biblical concept. God's sovereign control over all things and events is revealed many times in the Bible, so that would be the best way of researching Providence.

    Here's an excellent on-line article:
