Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm doing a bit of my family tree and have come across an ancestor who was mentioned in a marriage certificate as being employed as a Land Steward in Dublin in 1855. Would any historians on the forum have heard of this occupation before???

I'm not sure if this is archaeology, but my grandfather was 'the Steward' on a large estate in Meath. His job was to manage the running of the estate's farms, etc.
