Ok, so i registered and paid on time , and I went to collect my student card, and I was told the finance office had blocked me from getting my card.
I emailed them to see what the story was, and they said I had only paid E863, and need to pay an extra E75 (something like that anyway)
Now i have 2 problems with this:

1 - when i registered, "amount due" was listed as 863, and it told me I had successfully registered and paid, they did not make it clear that there was any increase

2 - Why the hell did they need to increase the fee? what sort of extra administration costs could their be? We all know doing anything which involves interaction with the admin side of DCU is as painful as getting teeth pulled, yet we get to pay an extra 75 euro for the pleasure.

did they even give a reason for the increase?

    You pay on time?
Sounds like it might be a nicely rounded late fee.

I think the statement offically made read something along the lines of "we're feeling the pinch".

When i went to collect my card i discovered it was blocked. I asked why and they directed me to the registry that were camped out in the Henry Gratten building. I talked to someone in fees and sorted it out. All within 8minutes and hassle free.

Just be thankful they havent reintroduced full fees yet. As DCU have been one of the more vocal universities in its favour.

This could've been some sort of error with your registration page tbh, since registration fee's were raised by €75 this year

Theyre all pretty incompetent in both the registry and finance offices.
