Eotech clone suggestions

Hi guys,

It's time for an EoTech I think. Initially a clone until I decide to burn money again

Those of you that have one, could you give me your impressions on the make you have?

I have a Hurricane 551 model, it is a very good sight with a great field of view, better than an Aim Point sight. I was suprised at mine becasue it has the problems that some clones have which is ghosting of the sight. A full price should not have this and it has been fixed on the newer ACM models.

The 552 takes AA batterys which are easier to get but the 552 takes up a little more rail space because of this. The 553 is like the 551 except it has a QD rail mount.

Don't get the ACM 557 as I have heard its fairly bad quality.

i heard the G&P 553's on ebaybanned are very good...can anyone back this up??

If I was shopping for one right now the G&P 553 is the one I'd go for.

I'm after a 533 myself, heard a lot of bad things about the G&P one though. Anyone got any thoughts on the HurricanE version?

where can i find a hurricane one???

I currently use the HurricanE 552 lovely build quality, only issue is that it has a small amount of ghosting at the higher brightness settings.

looks sexy in OD...i cant find it anywhere else?? maybe there off the market...

If your going for a high end one you should get a clear lens shield for it so the sight won't be cracked or shattered by a bb. I know the real EoTech will still work with the glass shattered as you can more the cross hair to another part that still ok and the point of aim won't be off that much, I don't know about the airsoft versions.

I have a chinese copy one, it got hit in pred the other weekend and smashed the glass. it was the rear glass though which is odd coz i dont remember being shot at from the rear.

The front one got hit loads of times over the time ive had it and not a scratch.,
one of the bad things about the copy i had was the rear lens was mirror finish and it made looking through it very difficult is the light was above or behind you, I saw the one KD got from ebaybanned at the salute show and its far better than the one i had.

I wonder what make it is...is yours a G&P or Hurricane, or something else...i have a BSA 2x42 on my g3 which is fine but i would love an eotech on the 416...

The thing with the real one is that it's a holographic site. The airsoft ones are just red-dots.

To be honest I'm leaning towards a HurricanE ones, though I might give the ones that are saying "No ghosting' off ebaybanned instead. Choices choices.

In any case, need to get a new front rail system first. the RAS2 with it's hump is going to get in the way.

This is the one I got from ebaybanned whic vtec referred to, it's a very nice little unit, have only used it a little bit but it's very solidly built and i'm happy with it.

I've the same one. Great sight, and looks the biz on the M4. Only complaints I've got is the ghosting on the green reticle (barely noticeable on the red one) and the the fact that the rear glass panel (which the reticle is bounced off) is loose so the reticle jumps on and down. It easily fixed with a spot of glue. Other than that its a fantastic bit of kit.
