It´s a bit early for that is it not.

Anyway, mine is "Christmas Song" by Jethro Tull". :D

Yeah, it's a bit too early for a thread like this.

But I love Christmas, so what the hell.... ;)

I Wish it Could be Christmas Everday - Wizzard. Roy Wood is not just for Christmas folks. Check out his other work including gems such as Dear Elaine, Music to Commit Suicide By, Carlsberg Special, See My Baby Jive

I am aware that my credibility will fall in the eyes of many but so what - I love Christmas Time (Don't Let The Bells End) by The Darkness. Memories of 2003 eh.

I'm a sucker for all the Christmas tunes. Yes I love a bit of Cliff, Slade, Shakin' Stevens, Macca, Band Aid (The original one of course), and Wham! at Christmas!

Waaaaaaaaaay too early to be thinking about Christmas but while we're here I nominate the mercurial Fairytale of New York.

No credibility lost here, JeanH. Feckin great song! ;)

Nice to hear someone agree with me. Thanks Green Giant!

Howza bout Step Into Christmas by Elton John? Feckin' brilliant!

I mean if you're talking songs that are not technically Christmas songs but suit the winter I'd recommend A Winter's Tale by Queen and Some Are by David Bowie. Bad Cover Version by Pulp also has a Christmassy feel. I think it's the Swingle Sisters backing vocals that does it. Edit: AND the bells (re: Bad Cover Version). Stay Another Day by East 17 is also Christmassy (I refuse to say whether I actually like this or not ;-))

    I'm the exact same.

Like Mariah Carey - can't stand her voice and she seems like a nutjob, but goddammit "All I Want For Christmas Is You" is feckin' brilliant!! :D:D

It really is good, isn't it?! :o

    Other favourites of mine are:

    - Lennon & Yoko's Happy Christmas (War is Over)
    - Paul McCartney's Wonderful Christmas Time
    - Robson & Jerome's I Believe

The best song played at Christmas time is definitely Fairytale of Newyork.
O Holy Night is also quite breathtaking when done properly.

You're so right; i'm not religious, but the melody of that is just feckin' sublime.

I also like 'Sleighride' by The Ronettes from the Phil Spector Christmas Album. Normally i'm loath to endorse anything that has gratuitious key-changes in it (cf Westlife etc) but there's loads of 'em in this, every last one bloody inspired!

    + 1.
I have a great version of it sung by a choir on a Christmas compilation CD. (I don't know what choir it is, though. I should probably find that out...)

I don't know why but i love Jona Lewie- Stop The Cavalry.

Excellent choice ;) (see post #3)

I've heard a few different versions, but that's the best one. Ronnie Spector has a great voice.

I'd actually love to hear Amy Winehouse do a version of it (whilst sober and off the crack, of course) I think she'd make a good job of it.

Oh there are so many...I like any song that has sleigh bells in it around Christmas!

I don't know why, but I always think Natasha Beddingfield's "Unwritten" is quite christmasy. I think it was released around christmas, maybe that's why.
