I have recently decided on going to a private college which will cost me almost 8,000 euro. I have nobody supporting me because my parents do not agree with my choice and iv had to leave home. this means that i will have to come up with the fees, rent and living costs. could i be entitled to state assistance of any form?

You need to give more information such as: is it a full-time course in Ireland?

Have a look at the different sections at http://www.studentfinance.ie/

The answer to this question is no you cant. Higher Ed grants administered by the VEC's Co Council's are funded by the Dept of education. Grants are not paid to students going to Private Colleges of which this is one. You should contact your local VEC to check but Im almost sure that Im correct. You could also check www.education.ie info on grants is provided on the web

You should be able to claim tax relief for tuition fees.
Maybe you should try and get BAck to Education allowance but you need to be 12 months signing on to get this. Some of my friends are on this and it really eases the financial burden of college.

I am currently undertaking a four year undergraduate course in WIT. I have almost my first year down and will be returning next year to complete my second year. I was working part time but stopped before xmas and my only source of income my the maintaince grant that i receive from the VEC which is around 3400 per year. I was living in college accomadation which costs 3600 per year and someone told me that i was entitled to rent allowance. I am not a mature student even though i am 22 and will be 23 in july. Does anyone know next year if i rented a house would i be entitled to rent allowance?

No, unless it was exceptional circumstances.
