Can someone please tell me how many hours a week History w/ Political Science (TR012) is? And also how these hours are split up?

    Thanks,

History & Political Science (HistPol) has about 12 hours a week of lectures & tutorials, certainly in the first 2 years anyway.

In first year there is one mandatory course, Introduction to Political Science. You are then faced with a series of choices about the rest of your hours. You can choose to do either one or two more social science courses, Sociology & Economic Policy. Each course has 2 lecture hours and a tutorial, with the tutorials occuring every two weeks.

On the history side, you have to choose one year- long course from either medieval Ireland or medieval Europe, then a Part A course from a choice between either Britain or early modern Europe I think. You can do the Part B of it if you're not doing 3 social science courses. Again each course has 2 lecture hours and a tutorial a week.

Second year is roughly the same in terms of choices etc, but both the politics and history options are much better, with greater choice and an opportunity to select topics that interest you.

As for third & fourth year, I'm not 100% sure but I'd imagine there's a roughly similar number of hours.

    Hope this helped :)
