The day after my friends fathers wedding there is a BBQ in the house.

That night a bunch of us are in the living room, the lights are off and one of the lads ar emessing around with a laptop. The guy turns it off nad leaves it on the floor and says lad smind that.We all go to sleep.

I end up getting food poisoning in the middle of the night and start getting sick every half hour. The next day the laptop is turned on and the screen is broken.

Now I am blamed for kicking when running out getting sick...And now I am being made pay for it,But should the person who left the laptop on the ground be made pay half or what,As when I asked them, saying in all fairness that they should I was pretty much told to feck off.

So should he be paying for it,Or should I or should we both?

In all fairness I dont see the justic in the world.A guy kicked my bag((not a friend of mine)) and when I took my mp4 out I found it was broken.I told him he would have to pay to repair it and he told me to **** off and laughed in my face.So I have to pay for a laptop which wasnt wholly my fault for breaking it and when my mp4 was broken a guy laughed in my face and threw it away from his mind when I asked....Man I hate this world.

I really dont see that happening. And as well as that he dosent live with his dad so I dont think it would be covered by it,and his dad dosent seem like the guy who would go through the effort.

I don't really see what the problem is. The bloke who put it on the floor warned people to take care of the laptop and despite this warning you kicked or stood on it and broke the laptop. It seems pretty clearcut to me, you are wholly responsible, you should accept liability and pay up.

The guy who smashed your mp4 is a different matter and you should have been more forceful about it. I don't mean using physical violence but allowing him to laugh in your face? Why didn't you tell him I'm not joking and if necessary you'd go to your solicitor?

I think the owner of the laptop would have some difficulties in an action for damages against you.

He brings the laptop to a party, then leaves it on the floor in a room where some people have become tired, emotional and sick, and with lights off.

A judge is likely to tell him that he should have taken better care of his property.

Legal issues aside I'd offer to contribute but there is no way I'd pay for the full whack (or even what its was worth before accident) as the stupid fecker shouldnt have left it on the floor, in the line of walking where people would be sleeping in the dark.

Right...The fulll cost was 240 and I paid 150,He was offered the 240 but said he'd pay for 90 which was nice of him.

Where to begin...Placing a laptop on a spot between a couach and armchair,Being a passage way to the door while turning the lights off is ridiculouse. An yes despite the warning I did hi it by accident but dats_Right you try having food poisioning with waking up with stuff comming out both ends every 30 mins and rushing to the toilet in a dark room.FIrstly, when you wake up you dont really remember much for a short while,so rushing to a toilet wouldnt give you much chance to clear your memory,When your about to vomit and such you rush to the nearest place viable...ie this toilet ,and you dont think about whats on the floo, and as well as being in a room with no lights.

Now you take these conditions and place them apon yourself and see if you can recall a person putting a laptop on the ground and see it as you rush to a toilet.

    ick :D
