Is it possible that it will run under compatibility mode or through DOSBox on XP/Vista?

I've never heard of anyone installing Win98/ME on an Intel Mac, but it will definitely be possible via Parallels, if not through Boot Camp.

You will still need a license for Windows, of course.

Definitely possible through VMWare Fusion, probably Parallels as said above too. Out of interest, why do you want an old version of Windows? Price?

Hardly worth buying virtualisation software (and, to be legal, a legit non-OEM copy of Windows95/98/Me) just to run an old game, which probably only needs DOS to run anyway, as a lot of old Windows games did. It could well run in WINE under Linux - free of charge so worth a try.

Edit - it came out in 2001 so that's not old  but anything that doesn't come on a cassette tape isn't, really :D

According to Wikipedia, that game was released for Mac - PPC not Intel though and possibly not OSX compatible. You can (afaik) overcome the first hurdle on an Intel Mac but not the second. Ironic isn't it that it could be easier to get the Windows version of an old Mac game to run, than the old Mac version...

In Cavan there was a great fire / Judge McCarthy was sent to inquire / It would be a shame / If the nuns were to blame / So it had to be caused by a wire.

You can't buy it anywhere - it's part of Leopard: Applications => Utilities => Boot Camp Assistant to set it all up. If you are running Tiger, I think you're out of luck at this stage, since it is no longer available to download (it was a limited-time beta which lasted for quite awhile - I think if you already have it installed, it keeps on working but you can't download and install it any longer).

just upgrade to leopard - then you have the latest Mac OS and you have bootcamp so you can do your windows thing.

Now I'm not 100% sure about hardware driver compatibility for older versions of windows - but for XP you're 100% fine.
