I've been thinking about buying a desktop.

I've about €1200 max to spend.

Dont play many games (half life and a few others from last year). Its gona be used mainly for web and college stuff.

I'd like to get a 24 inch screen and a blu ray drive (read and write if possible)

    I also want wifi

Have been looking at the Dell Studio Hybrid. Looks good.

    Can any make any suggestions?

Did you check out the iMac ... there's a new one on the way.
Check out the apple store on the 16th of Oct 2008 (www.apple.com/ie)... I'd say after 6/7 Irish time ... I'd say it should be class going on what they've done in the past. So far, they don't have a blu-ray drive so I can only assume that will be on the cards next week.
I am a Mac user (@home) and honestly i wouldn't use anything else.
    hope this helps..

Expensive alright ... how about buying an ASUS Eee (opposite end of the scale entirely)

and buy a monitor to go with it ... they are cool out ... I seen one in Carphone Warehouse yesterday ... note: they're cheaper online.
    Hope this helps...

note: You can install which ever OS you wish - i seen hacks online - so its easily search-able on google.
