    I applied for FIS last week but i am just wondering does anyone know how much of a backlog there is with applications

    u will hear within 4 to 5 weeks time

    we applied about may or june the backlog was about 8 weeks then you should have it in time for christmas good luck

    The main problem with FIS at the moment, as I understand it, is that a lot of applications are coming in from people who are putting down earnings that are below the minimum wage. These have to be referred to the Employment Rights Authority for investigation (to ensure that employers are abiding by the min wage agreements).

    The other usual problems are incomplete forms and backlogs resulting from press releases and mailshots advertising tthe scheme.

    its not the applicant who puts down their earnings ,its the employer.
    the main problems are the incomplete forms,not sending in required documents,lack of cooperation from employers and needing info from other eu countries.
