i shoot two ruger m77mk2's (old version of the hawkeye)
1 in 25-06 and the other in 220 swift
they are very good guns for the price and id consider mine a working rifle which if a mark appears on the stock im not to worried but if its the stainless with the hogue stock if you intend toput a bi-pod on it, it may push up againt the barrel to much
i cleared out the the barrel channel in mine to float the barrel which made mine more accurate
if you dont like the trigger on them then you can put in a timmeny trigger
ammo wasnt really a problem as most would work in them

Yeah thats exactly what im looking for really, a working rifle as such that i dont have to mollycoddle it :D i live right beside the sea aswell(35-40 yards) so the stainless barrel would help prevent the salty air corroding it, cheers sika.

    Hi tiny,
I have a stainless M77 MK2 in .223 and find a great little rifle. While maybe not a tack driver, it is accurate enough to do what I need it to do
regularly, old reynard can vouch for that :D.
I've had to change the trigger to a Timney, but seemingly the hawkeye remedied this by coming with an adjustable trigger as standard.

Well you could free it out yourself but if its the Synthetic stock and you put a bi-pod on it, it may touch the barrel
but still it could shoot just as well as a floated barrel

Yeah il definately have a bipod attached most of the time, i got the synthetic one

Well see how she shoots first of all and try as may different bullets as possible in it before making any modifications to the stock

58 grain V max hornady, for foxes and neckshooting deer. Or maybe a 70gr Nosler Ballistic Tip Federal??

She likes the taste of 85grain Federal, very accurate!
