    Just need to know the printer brand and model number (usually located on the front). Will be able to locate a download link for the drivers/software so you can begin to use your printer.

    Usually though, the software is provided on a CD when you purchased it. Its also available from the manufacturers website if you misplaced the CD.

    Install in this order;
    http://www.downloaddelivery.com/downloads/cpd/cjb2300EN.exe

    Once the above is installed, reboot and then install;
    http://www.downloaddelivery.com/downloads/cpd/LexFax3N1EN.exe

    If your still getting that error, report back. I just want to make sure your doing the right one first.

    thanks sully i installed the first one and that error came up so i restarted (i presume thats the same as reboot) and tried downloading the next one, but this pc is very slow and actually stopped downloading after about 67% (this happened before, it just wont download past a certain point). im trying to download it again. can i ask is there anything i can do to improve the performance of the pc. its quite old, about five years.

    There are various things you can do to improve your PCs performance, but I wouldnt think its related to slow internet connection. Run a speed test from SpeedTest.net and post back the results.

    As for the PC itself, I always recommend people get their PC serviced (if your not good with computers, or can only get by) every year or so. Just a health check to clean it up and see what we can do to improve it. In a lot of cases I have seen its just older hardware that could do with upgrading (RAM for instance) or PC being slown down by viruses/spyware/trojans.

    Like Sully said, the typical upgrades(often simple) can rejuvenate the PC.

    To figure that, check your current specs: for instance, in the START menu right-click on My Computer, click on Properties. The 'system' and 'computer' details there would be instructive.
    Also, instead of right-clicking on My Computer, just open it(left click) and check the local drives which are listed for the amount of free space available on each.

    You'd have an idea what might help. Internet, anti-virus and software updates are all likely to help too.
    It's a balancing act of hardware v's software, free v's pay-up-and-look-happy, good value v's bad value(a new PC becomes cheaper at some point)!

    download ccleaner http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/ run it and it will clean all the junk off your PC safely

    then go to windows update

    Whos your Internet Provider? That is, who supplys the internet to your house? Seems an unusually slow connection. The sloweness is caused by either a problem with your ISP or a problem on your line. Otherwise your using a provider who generally doesnt give good speeds.

    Best bring it to a reliable IT shop to clean it up. Just ask them to give it a service (usually software updates, anti virus/spyware check, general running advise etc) and tell them if the PC itself is running slow (not the internet). We could spend hours online helping, and get nowhere.

    Not sure what you mean by second download - are you referring to my post? If your getting errors, I need to know the exact message before I can help.
