This is one of my first posts here, enjoy taking photographs & have a lot to learn, took these last night from near Cork

Appreciate any advice/comments, trees in the foreground in the last two shots don't help, the flash was switched on, images are also resized
    regards to all

The sunset looks amazing!!! Its unusual for sure!!!

But the trees are very distracting... Maybe you should try cropping them out???

Edit: I stole and cropped the first one and just boosted the colour slightly and this is what I ended up with

    Hope you don't mind!!! :D

I'm sure you or someone else would do a better job with the original size, just cropping out the trees make a big difference but anyhow I love it, its a great shot!!! Don't think I ever saw a sunset like that!!!

    Interesting sky.
Why did you use a flash, Bogman?

I've noticed sometimes in the evenings, if you use a flash the colours come out even more vibrant, though there can't be anything nearby to bounce the flash off.
    It does work at times!

Possibly because the camera automatically adjusts the white balance to counteract the paling effect the flash has when it's on. Therefore when the flash bounces off nothing, you'll notice the more vibrant colours. You'll get this effect without the flash on if you change your white balance to the preset setting "flash", or one of the others like flourescent.

    Hope you don't mind!!!

Not in the least fluffyVW and appreciate the comments, its my first DSLR and these were among the first shots taken with it, lucky to have had such an interesting sunset, to answer City-Exile's question as to why I used a flash, 2 reasons, I am a pure amateur, camera hardly out of the box, don't laugh, didn't look at the manual & didn't know how to switch it off
Been using a Traveler DC-XZ6 for a good while and getting some interesting results from it

I agree with the suggestion to crop out the bush / tree in the foreground. It distracts from the wonderful sky.

The sky really does look amazing and should be what the viewer is drawn to look at!

    Great capture!! :D
