    Hello all,

Have been piecing together a full set for a while.

Just short the 3 wood and am looking for some ideas.
I'm closer to 28 than 18 and would like something a bit forgiving that will help me to hit longer than the 5 wood but always help we hit some fairways.

Maybe a big ask but I said I'd throw it out there.

    Any thoughts welcome.

    thanks,

Are you looking for one to hit off the fairway or the tee?

If the fairway then with your high handicap I suggest that you stick to a 5 wood. I rarely hit a 3 wood off the fairway now and it's the least used club in my set.

If you want to use it off the tee then I would consider using a lofted driver (say 11 or 12 degrees). The big head may help you rather than a smaller headed 3 wood. Alternatively get a 3 wood with a large head that is easy to use off the tee (forget about it on the fairway).

Unfortunately I'm not at all confident of my woods off the fairway.

And its very hard to get confident as the driving just isn't the same.

So yes just off the tee. So I guess a 3 wood with a big head makes sense.

Any particular makes that are popular and forgiving ?
