standard of 1/2 and 2/4 ipoker

What is the standard at 2/4 like compared to 1/2? I've put in over 30k hands at 1/2 the last 2 months (by far the most dedicated I've ever been with poker!) and I'm looking to move up. I've put in about 3k hands on Sat/Sundays 2/4 but not enough to gauge how tough it is

The standard at 1/2 shocked me. I am physically ill I didn't put in a few hundred K hands a year or two ago.... 5/10 back then was piss easy in comparison. It's not easy out there! I ran at 4.59ptBB/100 (9.18 big blinds) playing 6 X 6-max.. This was at 9ptBB/100 for the first 15k hands but an absolute horrible patch in the middle halved that! I think 6ptBB/100 is a fair reflection of my ability at 1/2.

What ptBB/100 do you reckon my BR should be at 1/2 to be able to beat 2/4? What BR do you recommend?

edit: and is ipoker the best place to be playing 2/4?

the standard at both of these levels on ipoker is very weak imo.

game selection is tougher, and i think there's a big difference in the regs between the two levels (w/e i read the ssnl regs thread i get the impression they're really clueless), but if you're beating 200nl for 4+bbs then you should be fine.

Not nearly as weak as they used to be though.. getting tougher.. hard to find a table during the day with over 15%

Sorry, but what does that mean?

200nl on ipoker is quite nitty, there are a lot of really tight guys out there who are hard to get money out of unless they have a big hand. Also there are a lot of spewy regs who take insult to getting 3b and 4b and stack off quite light. I've played no 400nl on ipoker ever but I have on Everest which was very good at certain times and pretty bad at others.

What I have is split my roll onto a few different sites and just picking the very best tables among them. I still keep most of my roll on ipoker but I also have 10BI on both Stars and FT and intend to put 10BI on Everest again. I'm not going to worry too much about rakeback anymore, just going to try and find the best games as I do find it very tough to get good games during the times that suit me best to play which would be in the evening when I get home from work.

 wow that sucks. Even during the day most 400nl tables on Everest have 1 fish and you can normally get 4 tables of 25% plus. As digi said, multi-siting is the only way to go at 400nl and up now imo.

I think having a 2nd site that has american players is the best way to go. The tables on ipoker during the day are always nitty as you have the full time regs only. Also, if your body clock is a bit ****'d the after 1am the tables are dead. Where as that's peak time on stars and Tilt.

I'd go with FT over stars as the 27% rakeback is more then what you'll earn through the stars VIP system.

Yeah, i dont even bother playing daytime on ipoker, well not in the last 2 months and usually only play 11pm-1am and by then its hard to find 4 good tables so ive signed up to Party now to check that out, if thats no good ill try Full Tilt but ill still stay on Ipoker mostly and use Party & FT to fill voids when tables are bad, lucky enough i only play 4 tables these days, i dont envy people trying to find 8 good tables at any stage of the day

BTW 15% is the table VPIP average
