I'm going to Surrey for a few days next weekend and thinking about heading into the big smoke on some night. Can someone suggest a friendly (ie, you can join for nothing on the spot with a passport and they're pleased to see you) casino in the general vicinity? I think I'll have to go into London itself, but if there are any in the general south east of England, I'd like to know about them too. I'd be looking for somewhere that has a cheap buy in tourney in the evening (<=100) and then an active HE cash game (1/2, say)

not familiar with the geography of London but AFAIK you can join on the spot in any regulated casino (the 24 hour rule is gone).

24-hour reg delay is gone, but you'll have to bring your passport and dress reasonably smart.

The Vic in London is probably the best place to go to. Its central (on Edgeware Road) and will have tonnes of cash games and a tournament on the go.

There is a listing on the link above to the tournament schedule.

Bear in mind that some older websites might still have a link to the Gutshot poker club - but that closed a few weeks ago.

EDIT: the tournament schedule on the website is out of date, but if you just give them a ring they can let you know about the schedule
