    anyone suggest a decent blu-ray capable player laptop was looling at sony ones on dabs for around a grand

    I'm pretty sure the Dell XPS m1530 can have a BluRay drive. There were some good deals on them earlier in the year as well; not sure what the story is price-wise now, though.

    I found out yesterday that the Dell Studio 17 also has BlueRay. It might be worth checking out.

    Seconded for the XPS1530. It's lighter and more mobile than the 17 inch Studio. Looks a little better. I have one since May and am quite happy, though I decided not to fit a Blueray because of the price at the time. But with the HDMI connection it has no problems with High definition playback
