Hey! I'm going to take up the piano but I'm unsure whether or not I should buy a piano or buy a keyboard first? I'd appreciate any advice.
    Cheers.

A keyboard is cheaper, easier to carry around and can sound pretty damn convincing if you get the right one. Also it has the bonus of having other sounds, drums etcetera.

    Have a look here http://www.galttech.com/research/music/best-piano-keyboard.php

Well, for the very beginning, you could start with keyboard. However if you are going to get deeper into playing, the mechanics of a piano is essential.

A keyboard with weighted keys or an electric piano would be fine to begin learning with. A keyboard with synth action keys isn't a great place to start if playing a real piano is the aim.
