Oven broke last week, it's an integrated unit with a seperate gas hob (which is still working).

We're looking to cut out the integrated unit and get a freestanding unit to replace it, so looking for recommendations for a gas hob + electric double oven cooker.

Most I've seen so far is the Electrolux range, e.g. http://www.electrolux.ie/node38.aspx?productId=7348

Looking in Harveys, DID, Currys, PC World at the moment.

Anyone with any better idea? :)

It looks like it'll have to be the Electrolux, I saw a Smeg (smeg suk62mfx5) online that fits the bill, but it has a huge mark up over here. €1000 from the uk (https://ogormans.co.uk/smeg_dual_fuel_cookers.htm) and €1900 over here with discount electricals :)

Just to let people know where I got with this.

I followed up with the electrolux and smeg in DID, they could not do the electrolux as it does not have a flame failure device. The smeg they could order in, at a cost of €1750 (compared to discount electricals at €1900).

    I ended up using www.appliancesdirect.co.uk

At first they were more expensive than other uk retailers (but at least shipped to Ireland), I sent a webnote to them to price match, and within a day they had reduced the price by £200, going from the most expensive, to one of the least (only ogormans were £5 cheaper).

I ordered the cooker, £109 delivery, and also got the stay clean side panels. Order took about 2 weeks to come in, and they were very quick to respond to emails. I did have two issues:

Firstly, they charged my credit card twice on the day of dispatch, the second charge did not get put through, and was on hold, I got a phone call Saturday evening asking was the double charge correct, I said it was not, but that the best thing was to follow up with appliancesdirect before going any further. I emailed them on Saturday night, and got a response Sunday morning that it would be followed up. Tuesday morning I got another response that a charge was on hold and that it had been cancelled.

Secondly, the driver never rang before hand to say when the cooker would be delivered, I literally was out on an appointment (I'd usually have been at work), and just happened to drive in while the truck was still there, another minute and it would have been a missed delivery (and if it was just my wife there, she wouldn't have been able to help carry the cooker in).

The cooker arrived in very good condition on a palette, the cardboard box it was in was reinforced with wood, no dents or problems. We installed the cooker and it's been great, and saved over €600 on the Irish price. (and the Smeg is a much much nicer cooker than any we saw over here).

Despite the issues, I'd still go with buying online next time I need an appliance.
