Electronics problem (LOG)

    Hello all,

I have a problem in relation to logarithmic amplifiers. I am trying to input exponential voltages (eventually pulse peaks) of 10, 20, 40, 80, 160, 320, 640, 1280, 5120 mv etc.. and get a linear response (or those values logged).
I have a simple circuit with resistor, op-amp and tran NPN. I also have an AD8307 log amplifier. However the output is not as expected. Can anyone let me know of a simple circuit that might sort this.

    Thanks.
