Cheap-**** laptop

    Howya folks.

I don't care about spec, I don't care about manufacturer reputation or even how long the thing will last. Someone I know wants a laptop for Christmas, and I'm pretty sure the only thing they want it for is as a wireless network bridge for their Xbox360. So basically, I want to get them a cheap laptop that'll do the job.

Bargain basement, what's the minimum money I can spend on a laptop thesedays. Note, I dont want to get a netbook, this must be a decent sized laptop with a LAN connection and a wireless card. Anything else I dont care about so long as it's dirt cheap. HDD, processor, GPU all are up for grabs.

One thing I wont do is buy from eBay, and I would prefer to avoid buying online if possible. I would like to walk in somewhere and pluck something off a shelf if possible.

Of course, when they open the box and see a full sized laptop, they're going to be so grateful thinking I spent over a grand on them, when in Reality I spent a good deal less than half that. So what? I'm an evil git when it suits me.
