List is up on the website:

    http://www.horrorthon.com/

Much better than recent years imo. I am actually very excited.

Absolutely overjoyed that Martyrs is there. Its supposed to be an absolutely amazing film and I was praying it would be included.

Childs Play, Dawn of the Dead and Evil Dead 2 should be real treats with the audience and I am looking very forward to seeing Bad Biology from Frank Hennelotter.

Time Crimes is supposed to be a very good film. Ive never seen the hunger but I know its highly regarded and Grindhouse trailers are always buckets of fun so that should be a good experience.

Its actually a very strong line up imo and Im looking forward to it.

Never had a chance to get to the Horrorthon so hopefully will get to see a few things this year. Time Crimes and Martyrs sound interesting alright, might check them out. And I always mean to try and get to 'surprise films' but then you run the risk of some awful crap. And Evil Dead 2 on big screen = win.

Unforutnately Quarantine got in though. That film deserves a boycotting for what appears to be complete redundancy!

I went last year and it was "shrooms"...God awful (his new film freakdog is supposed to be equally terrible).

Think its been ****e for the last few years. I was planning to go if Martyrs was not on the list but since it is I think Ill give it a miss. There's not really anything out there good that it could be (that I can think of anyway).

The listing for the horothon has the movie SEER as italian but it was in fact written by an irish man, directed by another irish man, stars a cast of irish actors, And was filmed in co. kildare!!!! It was even funded by Irish people....

I don't know if this really matters to whether you want to see it or not but I just thought i'd point it out as I for one would go just to support an irish made movie if not for any other reason. Also from what i hear it's a little cracker of a film :)

I'm not overly impressed, I'm sure the IFI are hamstrung by money - but it doesn't look like an awful lot of money or effort has went into promoting or marketing the event.

A very basic website with just listings, no times, extra information is a bit poor

If anyone from the IFI is reading, I'll do it for free next year :)

I think it peaked around 2006. It just hasn't had as strong a line up of films and guests since then.

Although the surprise movie was awful too that year... a slasher flick that was a vehicle for some American wrestler.

Looking forward to seeing Night of the Lepus on the big screen. Dr. McCoy versus giant bunny rabbits... what's not to love?

You mean eh.... last year? :p

The horrorthon is always great craic. Fair play to the lads that run it - they really put their heart into it and I've always enjoyed it. Totally different cinema experience than seeing stuff with a regular omniplex crowd.

Evil Dead 2 is arguably the highlight.

How does this work, do you have to be a member of IFI to go?

I've never been there myself, what's the screen like, is it a 'proper' cinema screen? I'd love to see Dawn of the Dead on the big screen!! :)

    What's the seating like?

IFI membership is just €20 for year. There are daily membership rates as well.

Screen 2 is pretty tiny and not very comfortable at all... but Screen 1 is adequate enough. Not the most comfortable cinema in world though.
