I'm thinking of installing a putting green at my house.
I was wondering if anyone here has had one installed?
If so, is it as good as you hoped and was it expensive?

The words mad and crazy come to mind........

    :)

I'm not an expert but you'll need to spend lots of money to prepare it right. Then you'll need to get the right grass. Then you'll need to cut it often (once a day???). I've read of people who have done it but they gave up due to the high costs and maintenance involved.

It would be easier to get a plastic one.

You mean in your house right?... it would be artificial grass.

Heard its around 2G but I dunno if that was perfect quality or what...

My Dad got an artificial one last year and he loves it as opposed to cousins of mine who tried to grow one, got the cutters and everything but it just took too much effort and in the end did they were way off the quality we got

Buddy of mine has one of the artificial green in his garden and its top class can't recall how much he paid. I know it wasn't cheap but he'll tell ya it was worth every cent. the cost is per metre an i'm sure there was a minimum size. If i had a garden and the cash i'd have one. they do take a bit od maintanence though to keep them rolling true. i'll try to find a link to the compant he used and post it here.:p

We had artificial grass laid by this crowd in August - www.sanctuarysynthetics.ie/.

They also install putting greens and I was very close to getting a 5x10 ft area done but the wife wasn't having any of it. Will keep working on her. ;)

Yeah, I was talking about an artificial one.
Was looking around the net and there are a couple of companies in Ireland I've found who seem to know what they're talking about.

Mind you none of them give any pricing on their sites....
