Looks like the Fight For The Right Battle Royal may be dropped this year.

3 Way Dance for no.1 contendership between Cage, AJ and T seems likely now. A waste of all 3 men, in my opinion. These were the 3 big losers lost admist the Jarrett/Foley hype. Shame.

On paper, this card doesn't look too bad, probably one of the best the promotion has put on this year. But what's with the return of Bongo McMichael? Are they not learning from WWE's and WCW's past mistakes (clearly not)

Just don't put him on the announce desk afterwards, whatever they do!

Presumably the addition of Mongloid is to garner a modicum of mainstream press? Not a bad idea as long as he's not being paid too much...

Chicago Bears Legend Steve McMichael Returns To The Wrestling Ring At “Bound For Glory IV” In Chicago

Steve McMichael is returning to the world of professional wrestling!

McMichael, the popular, charismatic former Chicago Bears defensive tackle who was a full-time pro wrestler for World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in the late-1990s, will be a Special Guest Referee at TNA’s “Bound For Glory IV” set for Sunday, Oct. 12, from the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, Ill.

TNA Wrestling President Dixie Carter said McMichael’s role at “Bound For Glory IV” will be to “maintain peace, if at all possible,” in the Monster’s Ball match, featuring four tag teams: TNA World Tag Team Champions Beer Money, Team 3D, The Latin American Xchange, and the tandem of “The Blueprint” Matt Morgan and Abyss.

“The Monster’s Ball match at ‘Bound For Glory’ has the potential to be one of the violent, out of control wrestling matches ever held inside TNA’s six-sided ring,” Carter said. “Steve McMichael is a Chicago icon with a solid pro wrestling past. We knew he was one of the only Chicagoans possibly qualified to potentially maintain order in this match. We’re thrilled Steve accepted our offer to be part of TNA’s biggest pay-per-view of the year.”

Its mainly due to his history in Chicago, probably looking for local Chicago media coverage to help promote the event.

Ive never looked forward to a TNA PPV until this..Should be good..SHOULD BE..But will probably somehow be a stinker..

I wouldn't go that far, they'll probably get it right and then spend the following five PPVs being not so spectacular.

TNA have a habit of getting it right and then spending five months screwing up afterwards.

I wouldnt saw it was screwing up as they purposely choose that direct.

My hope for the PPV is the Jeff Jarrett changes his in ring up radically.

When will this be shown on Bravo??
And also..Whats the point of the steel asylum match..What do you get out of winning it??There was no mention of a X Division #1 contender shot for it..Why would you put yourself through hell for nothing??..Another strange TNA match,,But as I said earlier in this thread..IM getting into TNA big time..Im crossing the line..But staying with WWe too

    WAT

You how many buys that is dont you? They would have to more than double there very best buyrate to attain that. There is little buzz for the show on the internet, locally there is still alot of tickets for sale while the ratings for IMPACT! were quite poor.

Also can anyone tell me Jarrett shoke Angle's hand and siad he deserves
the gold medals. Didnt Angle make a really off colour remark about Jill Jarrett?

Why does the Monster's Ball match need an enforcer? What exactly will he be enforcing?

    Alright predictions:

-The lying, headbutting babyface Samoa Joe will get booed out the building
-They'll do the Montreal finish in the Angle/Jarrett match

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,316 ✭✭✭✭amacachi

Any bookies doing over/unders on what percentage of the Arena seats they can fill?

    **** I forgot:
-The Jarrett match will start off with a crowd brawl, the winner will need to hit their finish at least three times, kick outs ahoy, Jarrett will hold up three fingers at least once, the guitar will be used and run ins are likely.

How could you leave out the ref bump?

    From f4wonline.com:
There was talk that the company's all-time paid attendance record, set at the Lowell show in April, could be broken and with Sears Center is a mid-sized arena so it should be 70-80% full.

How are they meant to do the screwjob then

Foley needs to make a mark with his arrival to company and the way TNA has presented him so far doesn’t leave much options for his current character (Hi I’m Mick Foley.) He has been added to the card and that match in particular for a reason. According to the F4W site TNA are advertising Foley's appearance as his only TNA PPV appearance which is bull****. TNA by advertising that obviously have a SWERVE in mind.

He may just have earned it at the 1996 olympics.

    It wasnt continuity was it?

Going by the spoilers the show sounds fairly good.

Was a very good show particularly the second half only match that brought it down was the bimbo brawl but that was always going to be the case

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,943 ✭✭✭Machismo Fan

I thought it was a great PPV. The second half was particularly awesome. Jarrett/Angle, the triple threat and Monsters Ball were great matches and Jarrett got a huge reaction. The crowd were into the show 100%, particularly for Angle/Jarrett.

Joes flying kick in the main event was insane and the match itself was very good. The Steel Asylum, despite being a little difficult to follow, was a great spotfest.

Overall, great card with some great wrestling and it sets up the Joe/Nash feud nicely.

While furthering the old vs young angle

    Jarrett got a huge reaction..
    particularly for Angle/Jarrett.

Ive read the total opposite elsewhere outside of the "Thank you Jeff "chant were very quiet especially in the beginning. The fact Jarrett and Angle wrestled in the beginning of the match sounds so stupid to me.
