    ummm........ that's a Dell link, not quite a komplett page for a HD.

    You can get any drive, firewire 400/800 or usb and it'll work. If you want to format it as os x extended - go right ahead and do so.

    As Babypink said, any drive will do as you can simply re-format it to HFS+ - if you don't want to do that, the Western Digital "Studio" line is already Mac-formatted on purchase and has USB 2.0/FW400/800 and eSata. I have the 1TB version of this MyBook drive:

    If you don't want the added bulk and the fact that you need to plug this one into the mains, you can get one of the 2.5" portable versions:

    However, these are smaller capacity-wise, more expensive, FW400/USB 2.0 and stupidly enough, when you want to use the FW400 interface, you still have to plug in the USB for power. Much easier to carry around though.

    I bought a 500 GB hard drive at Aldi last thursday for 79 euro. It's USB only, but for the price I didn't care. A firewire HD is good if you want to make a bootable drive. I have both. Aldi might still be selling them.
