this should be a handy enough question for anyone who knows their stuff, i have a machine at home which has 5400 ddr2 675mhz ram in it, and im contemplating upping it to 8gb, but im wondering should 6400 ddr2 800mhz ram work? ive googled it and it does look like itll do the trick, but couldnt find anything concrete one way or the other

if it helps its going into an ABIT KN9 motherboard

Just remember you'll only get the full 8 gigs in a 64bit OS. Otherwise your gonna max out at 3.5-4GB
