Depends on what you want to do with them, your level of experience,a nd what you want to spend.

I used to have a yamaha DTXplorer kit, which was really good.

Just bought a Roland TD3 kit today :D getting delivered tomorrow. Sounds great in the shop. My drum teacher came into have a look too, and he loved it. It has the advantage of coming with a mesh snare too. Those new mesh trigger pads are great! It also has a built in rhythm coach, so it judged your time keeping. I'll ket you know how it goes.

But if you wanna spend big the Roland TD20 kits are supposed to be amazing.

I never bought my stuff in Ireland I'm afraid. I bought my DTXplorer in the UK when I lived there, and my Roland kit here in Oz.

Christ knows how much it would all cost in rip-off Ireland :P

Ok I'll bear that in mind. This might be a silly question but whats the diff?

Mesh heads feel like reagular drum skins, So if you get a mesh head you can feel the "Flex" of the head(I.E. when you hit it you can kinda get a feel of it going in and out a tiny bit) Although it doesnt sound like its much of an advantage trust me, its amazing the difference. Try doing a roll on a regular snare, now try doing a roll on a book or somthing and youl get the idea in the difference.
