I was out last night, had about eight or nine pints (Carlsberg), got home around 2am.

Before bed I'd a cup of tea and a sandwich.

I'm up an hour and need to drive sometime before noon.

I'm feeling fine, but can still taste drink on my breath so I guess now is not the time, would I be right?.

Wait until well after lunch, you can never be too safe

Toasted ham & cheese with some mustard & onion. It was lovely :p

Its an hour per pint after the last one isn't? The tea and sandwich mean nothing tbh, but you should be ok by 11?

    French's American Mustard ftw!
Not that outrageously strong English mustard, ewwwwww:p. I can't even stand the smell of it!

I'd wait until after lunch, can never be too careful.

    On your rothar, my son!

Well I hear you're a big enough guy?

At least it seems that way.

You'll be grand now I'd say, but..don't risk it.
Typical one hour per unit or pint rule only really applies to average sized people.

Yup, gonna stick it out a while longer. Then its either a spin up Howth head and around Portmarnock/Malahide or walk the dogs on the beach.

Btw, the mustard was Colmans original English mustard.

    Lovely with crackers too :p

I was gonna cycle up it, it ain't half as nice after cycling up it with a hangover :(

But yes, I love it too. I think we live in the same area, we're very lucky. I don't think there's anything to compare on the southside.

We've got Howth, Portmarnock and Malahide within five minutes drive.

In fact, feck it I'm taking to dogs to Portmarnock beach in a few minutes, that'll be lovely.

You should drive straight away. There's nothing like the adrenalin rush brought on by the drive back home, wondering whether you're going to get arrested, or killed after a tree leaps out in front of you.

Yes I think we are close,I am in Grange Abbey on the Grange road just before Baldoyle.I often cycle out to howth with the 3 kids,I bought one of those cart things that attach to the back of the bike I will often be gone for the day with them as there is some much to do.

Portmarnock and Malahide are also super spots.

Assuming you stopped drinking by 1:30am, home for 2am, with 9 pints its an 18hr wait to be zero limit. (2hrs per pint to leave your system)

Take 16hrs to be legal(allowed 1 pint) so wait till 5:30pm to drive, good luck :D

Cycling when drunk is also an offence, any gardai on boards to catch this soldier? :D

im glad to see someone here understands the intricate science involved in a breathalyser test.

Last I checked toothpaste doesnt make you less of a hazard on the roadway. Unless you have your windows down. That stinkbreath could knockout a cyclist - he'd go careening into the righthand lane and OH NOES A LORRY

Heineken would be the most common thing I'd drink. I love Stella "What the fúck did you call me?" Artois but no where has it on tap.

There's not a huge variation between Heineken and Carlsberg. They're both middle tier in terms of quality.

Yeah but carlsberg tastes a lot worse.

It might be possible to buy one of those breathlisers. We had a sony one for about 100eur which was quite good.

I would wait till as late as possible. No sense risking it.
