Too bad it's crippled by Apples wifi-only VOIP rule. Fring is a fantastic app, I use it on S60 all the time, and the fact that I knew it would be restricted to wifi if it ever made the app store was one of my top reasons for not buying an iPhone. Hopefully when Apple gets a bit more competition from the likes of the Nokia Tube it'll have to rethink its strategy on this one.

It is too bad that you can't use it on the mobile network but how bandwidth heavy would VOIP on 3G/EDGE be? Because with the paltry 1GB caps most people here have, you might go through it a bit too fast.

I'm gonna try it out - if it works for Skype even around the house, that'll be great. I tried Fring out way back on 1.1.4 and Skype was pretty much unusable, way too much lag (on WiFi even).

very light on bandwidth. 1 MB every 5 mins of talktime. I've a 250MB plan on my phone and i never go anywhere near reaching it.

well i'm seriously loosing it with Fring right now - i refuses to work right with skype after a while.

Had to delete and re-install to get it to work, now its all bummed out again.

They should have held it back until a stable release was ready.
