Just bought an Bwm 318 from my mate for €150 as a project car to modify. Not too bad considering its actually in alright condition. The engine runs fairly smooth, tyres are good, but no nct and some rust on the arches. Everything is standard bar the alloys.

I plan on putting on a nice M3 body kit all round, rear wing, chaning the front and rear lights and getting it lowered to 40mm all round.

Where would I buy all this stuff? Installing it wont be a problem just finding it is the problem.

Agreed, I still wouldn't waste my money doing it up though, maybe fix/tidy the rust and see if you can get 500 quid for it

150??? That's mad cheap! What miles are on it?

I'd put as much labour yourself as you can into it(ie. at no cost), if you were going down the m3 line, buy a coupe.

A nice set of Oem wheels and a bit of a clean up, maybe m3 rear lense would do that car wonders. Best of luck with it, keep us updated.

Here's a coupe, same year for 3k... Looks a bit rough, but will show you close to what it could be worth with a bit in it. All depends if it's tastefully done

Great price in fairness but wouldn't agree with doing it up.. Do a few little things that will get it an NCT and try and sell it for a decent profit. Much better idea saving up for a good car that doesn't need much modification, just pissing money away otherwise.

breaers yards are the easy route... had one of these for a while... smile but fragile... dont abuse it or it will just crumble like a punto...


Bigger engine is a must before any cosmetics :cool:

M3 kit on a 4 door 318, that will definitely fool them.

Have to echo previous posters, fix the rust and sell it on for a few quid extra.

^Im not trying to fool anyone. I've seen a few examples of a 4 door with a m3 body kit and it looks nice.

But ya, after thinking about it, you guys are right. Im just gonna fix her up and sell it on. Put the money towards the pulsar.

Remember tho we're in the modifying section! Do something cool to it,maybe make a few subtle changes, some M3 pieces would go down nicely.

Thought I would give you a sorta update, got the car serviced fully so it would pass the nct thats booked.

Sold the car to my mate for €800 and hes gonna fix the arch himself. So a nice little profit of €650. Going towards ma pulsar.
