I recently picked up a brochure & price list for the new Mondeo. Looking at the estate I am confused by all the different types of engines/CO2 emissions, etc

The price list has the estate 1.8TDCi 6 speed manual at 156g

It has the 1.8TDCi 5sp manual at 142

However the brochure has 1.8TDCi at 151 and the 1.8TDCi ECO? at 139

Website has the 1.8TDCi ECO at 142 and the 1.8TDCi at 149

nothing is matching.....which one is correct? Can't find anything on this ECO thing either.

Obviously if the 1.8TDCi 6sp manual is correct at 156, it makes sense to opt for the 2.0TDCi 6sp which is also saying it is 156

AFAIK the Fod Mondeo Estate is available in..

    1.8 TDCi 125bhp 5 speed ECOnetic - 142g/km
    1.8 TDCi 100bhp 5 speed - 151g/km
    1.8 TDCI 125bhp 6 speed - 156g/km
    2.0 TDCi 140bhp 6 speed - 156g/km

The ECOnetic has aerodynamic tweaks, higher gearing and low rolling-resistance tyres and AFAIK a tweaked ECU map to lower its fuel consumption.

In my opinion, the 2.0 would definitely be the better choice, more modern design including a 16 valve head and is generally regarded as being substantially stronger than the 1.8.

Edit: The 139g/km is the saloon/hatch ECOnetic model while the 149g/km is the 1.8 TDCi 100bhp 5 speed hatch/saloon. I don't believe the 1.8 TDCi 125bhp is available as a 5 speed in Ireland but the ECOnetic will be available from Jan 09 according to the FOrd website.
