    Hey guys,

the new MMA forum is up and running here.

We will be using it to house fan discussion around the MMA promotions both global and local.

Some discussion may occur around training and techniques but for the most part i hope to keep those under SDMA and use the new forum to discussion events, fighters, news etc.

Anyway, enjoy and hopefully this meets the needs of the people who requested it!

    The beginning of the end.

    The beginning of the end.

I honestly don't see why. If the only thing keeping the SDMA forum open was MMA discussion then we would have just changed the name.

This forum has an avid and passionate group of regulars. It's up to them to accommodate each other and discuss Self Defence and Martial Arts in a way that keeps the forum alive.

Myself and Colm will be keeping a close eye on traffic here to see what happens.

    + 1.

I'll still post in here with regularity. I am after all far far far far away from mastering my art so I needs all the help I can get!

    The beginning of the end.

    Seems likely to me.

edit: fairly major edit: Hang on a sec....the MMA forum is only for discussing MMA events? But not training or techniques? I think it should probably be renamed to "Mixed Martial Arts Events" then to avoid confusion.

Im sure this forum will be a little quiter alright but not that much.
After all the mma forum is for mma. So for an example if a bjj event needs discussing surely the sdma forum is the most fitting place?

Exactly. I think both forums will co exist just fine. Im sure most of the regulars here over the last few years will still post here.

I think it's a good idea. I'll move all the MMA talk from the pro wrestling forum to the new forum, there's a lot of posters there who didn't like having everything confined to one single thread on this board

    exactly,

why would you try and keep none events type topics out of the new forum? Both forums can exist fine.

Yeah, I'm sure that was very frustrating alright. TBH, I never even bothered with that thread, though I have a passing interest in MMA.
