I've not heard anything. But to be honest I don't expect to get a spot.

UK people got their fleeces/mag's this morning so would expect to hear in next couple of days.

I didn't get in, I used a friends address in the uk but they said due to a huge amount applying... you didn't get in.
This now works out great as Im now 100% doing Paris and the kids easter holidays suit , so not all bad

I'm thinking of making my marathon comeback in Paris '09 , not sure yet havent run one in 9 years when I had a disaster.. but sounds like a good one to make a return.

Was going to start this exact thread last night. Now I'm nervous knowing that I 'll be finding out very soon.

Anyone else waiting on ballot results ?

    Seems a complete mess.
No people charged yet (including accepted uk entrants), uk or international despite worldpay agreements dated to expire on 7th of Oct.
No international ballot entrants have got word of rejections/acceptance as of yet.

I'm in the international ballot - but haven't heard anything yet. Not too bothered thought - circumstances have changed since I entered the ballot and wouldn't be taking a place in 2009.

On hold now to get confirmation cause I want to enter Edinburgh asap to make sure I get in there.

Meh, email to be sent to us by Friday according to information helpline.
Better be places left in Edinburgh by then.

Nice profile and decent sized field, just a bit bigger than Dublin.
Won by an Irishman too last year, Paul McNamara.

Plus it won't be full of inflatable costumes and such, London would be nice to get into as I love the city itself but will do and have done other runs there in the past.

Do you know if it's a certified marathon? Would love to try and get a Boston qualifying time next year.

    Rejected too.

Krusty - Edinburgh counts towards Boston. It's an AIMS race, all of which are considered for Boston qualification:

Not really....think I'll do Connemara instead....

Hey, you guys just reminded me about this. I signed up for the ballot online in April. Moved House in september, and I got a text from my old housemate last week about a "package" that had arrived for me.

    I wonder....

I've never even run a marathon before :P

I still haven't received any news. Like others, I want to apply for Edinburgh if I don't get London so the wait is getting rather annoying.

Ah, I got a rejection email. ****s aren't good enough for me anyway. :D Quite tempted to go for Connemara and Edinburgh.

    Rejected as well. Pity!

However Mrs Geld is delighted that I won't have to train for another marathon.

    Rejected too.:(
I would love to know the amount of people that got through via ballot or not..

I've signed up for Edinburgh. Just wondering if they (London Marathon) have a similar deal as NY, i.e. 3 x rejections = guaranteed entry. Is it worth applying for New York, just to start accumulating the rejections?

Rejected too, i called a few of the charities - they all want 1k+ sponsorship!

As far as I know if you are a UK resident and are rejected 3 times you get in on the 4th application. Not so sure about overseas ballot.

I'm in for next year thankfully

I think its 5 rejections and you get a guaranteed place for the 6th now for the London marathon.

Jaysus.. I had kind of set myself a goal of doing one marathon major every year, and one other marathon (in a location myself and the OH would like to visit).

At this rate, it looks like I'll be good for two years (Berlin, Chicago) and then will have to enter ballots for London and New York, and qualify for Boston (hopefully next year), or go the expensive route.
