I love the feel and the sound of the SG. I love the feel of the Epi. Explorer but wasn't mad about the sound. I have heard ESPs sound on youtube and thought it sounded way better than the both of them but not sure what it feels like.

I also think the gibson is overpriced

You can always get the Explorer and change the pickups and/or pots. That could help with the sound, although, you'd be taking a chance.

EDIT: The Epiphone one that is!

I'd back the ESP, for my personal music style, but it really depends on what you are going to be playing.
With the ESP you'll be getting a very hard, newschool grindcore/deathcore kinda sound (depending on the amp of course) and with the Gibsons, they'd sound better for classic rock, blues and all that carry on.

In the ESP, would you be going for EMG active humbuckers or Seamor duncans?
That'll make a good difference as well.
A lot to be concidered here.

Well I play old school rock and metal and little bit of blues. I have heard the ESP playing in a blues-rock style and i thought i sounded fantastic with loads of tone.

I could do that but i don't really want an epiphone (I know their great guitars). and also I don't really want to change pickups

I personally think that almost any guitar will sound good for the Blues, as long as the player is feelin' it...you dig? :p:pac:

Yeah i mean you can use an ESP for anything really, used with a compresser you can get some great jazz tones with them as well.
Id say the ESP is the way to go, in my experience, gibsons havent been great for playing metal, but hey, its all personal prefference.

Instrumental, just off o'connel street have a wide range of ESPs and LTDs.
Some of the more expencive LTDs are not far off the quality thier ESP equivilents. And i may be wrong, but i think i remember hearing that metallica have used LTDs in the studio.

Yeah I'll think I'll get the ESP, thanks for the input

The chances are mate if you can't make your mind up between those three totally different guitars, then your not ready to spend that kind of money on a guitar. A mate of mine bought an sg a few yrs ago when he was 17 or 18 and it was wasted on him, he just wanted it cuz it was an sg! I'm not suggesting for a second that this is the case here but as was said already: go and play with them each, you'll probably find that you'll fall in love with one and you will be inseparable. I was in NY and walked into a huge music shop with no intention of buying a guitar, and stumbled upon a strat that I fell in love with the sound! Had to have it, and it only cost a few hundered $.

Well I'm not gonna make that mistake, I haven't played all of them but I will, their is no way i could buy a guitar without playing it first

We're talking about japanese made guitars like bacchuses(eseses....), edwards or tokai. They're guitar companies in japan that are making better, cheaper guitars than gibson. The biggest problem is buying unseen :).

    Step 1.Seach bacchus on ebay
    Step 2.While page loads,Remove belt....

You'll figure out the rest from there :D
